Normal neck function is essential for protection of the spinal nerves and for orientation of the head for effective use of the senses. Neck pain and associated loss of function are often caused by loss of neck muscle function and movement abnormalities in the neck joints.
Research and our clinical experience indicate that combining manual therapy and exercise therapy is effective treatment for neck pain. This requires expert knowledge and skill to identify the best techniques and most appropriate exercises for each individual presentation.
