Hips Knees Ankles Shoulders Elbows

Normal neck function is essential for protection of the spinal nerves and for orientation of the head for effective use of the senses. Neck pain and associated loss of function are often caused by loss of neck muscle function and movement abnormalities in the neck joints.

Research and our clinical experience indicate that combining manual therapy and exercise therapy is effective treatment for neck pain. This requires expert knowledge and skill to identify the best techniques and most appropriate exercises for each individual presentation.

We are experts in the assessment and physiotherapy management of the following cervical spine conditions:

  • Acute wry neck
  • Whiplash
  • Cervicogenic headache
  • Cervical disc pathology including annular strains, protrusions, herniations and prolapses
  • Cervicogenic dizziness
  • Degenerative conditions including spondylosis and osteoarthritis
  • Facet (zygapophysial) joint pain
  • Cervical radiculopathy, radicular pain and referred pain to the shoulder and arm
